Rising World ist ein voxelbasiertes Open-World-Sandboxspiel von JIW-Games mit einer prozedural erzeugten und vollständig veränderbaren Welt. Du sammelst Rohstoffe, baust von kleinen Unterkünften bis zu Städten und Burgen, erkundest Biome und Höhlensysteme und kannst Tiere zähmen, angeln sowie Boote und Reittiere nutzen. Die Bauwerkzeuge sind bewusst frei ausgelegt und werden durch eine Plugin-API für Mods ergänzt.
Das Spiel lässt sich allein oder im Mehrspieler spielen. Steam führt Einzelspieler, Online-PvP, Online-Koop, LAN-Koop und plattformübergreifenden Mehrspieler. Rising World befindet sich weiterhin im Early Access; die heutige Fassung entstand nach dem Wechsel von der früheren Java-Version auf eine neue Engine, ohne dafür ein separates Produkt anzulegen.
Die PC-Veröffentlichung umfasst Windows, macOS und Linux als Betriebssystemvarianten desselben Gamekeys. Auf Steam erschien Rising World am 3. Dezember 2014. Eine eigenständige native PlayStation-, Xbox- oder Nintendo-Version ist derzeit nicht belegt.
