Haunt the House: Terrortown – als Geist eine ganze Stadt erschrecken
In Haunt the House: Terrortown bist du ausnahmsweise nicht auf der Flucht vor Geistern. Du steuerst selbst einen kleinen Spukgeist, der nachts seinen Glockenturm verlässt, um neugierige Stadtbewohner zu vertreiben. Dafür schwebst du durch Räume, übernimmst Gegenstände und erweckst sie mit paranormalen Tricks zum Leben. Du lässt Lampen flackern, Gemälde reagieren, Instrumente spielen und Museumsstücke plötzlich bedrohlich aussehen.
Die Stärke des Spiels liegt im Experimentieren: Jeder der Hunderte besitzbaren Gegenstände bietet eigene Aktionen, und steigende Furcht der Menschen schaltet neue Möglichkeiten frei. Ein Theater, ein Museum, ein Krankenhaus, ein Kreuzfahrtschiff und der Glockenturm sind die ursprünglichen Schauplätze. Darüber hinaus veröffentlichte SFB Games kostenlose Zusatzlevel wie Ghost Train, Mansion House und North Pole, die bereits im Grundspiel enthalten sind. Die cartoonhafte Optik wirkt zunächst harmlos, doch unüberlegtes Überschreiten der Angstgrenze kann unerwartete Konsequenzen haben.
PC-/Steam-Key, Sprache und technische Anforderungen
Der PC-Titel erschien zunächst am 30. Oktober 2013 unabhängig und am 6. Juni 2014 auf Steam. Die Steam-App 270630 bietet Windows und macOS auf einem gemeinsamen PC-Produkt, 25 Erfolge und die englische Oberfläche; Deutsch wird nicht unterstützt. Die ursprünglichen Windows-Mindestdaten sind 512 MB RAM, ein 2,33-GHz-x86-Prozessor und 200 MB Speicher. Für heutige Steam-Nutzung muss außerdem das aktuelle Betriebssystem des Steam-Clients berücksichtigt werden. Die sogenannte Soundtrack Edition enthält lediglich das Hauptspiel plus separat erhältlichem Musikalbum; sie ist keine neue Spielversion.
